In response to evolving industry demands, this panel brings together faculty from three departments and two colleges to examine the past, present, and future of cross-disciplinary design education. Panelists will begin describing what has been accomplished within their shared institutional context: longstanding and ongoing collaborations, shared curriculum, and pedagogical overlaps that have laid the groundwork for integration. The discussion will shift to what is currently underway\u2014highlighting the opportunities, challenges, and practical realities of merging Communication Design and Industrial Design into a shared Department of Design, strengthening partnerships with Computer Science, and navigating the transition of a program from a Department of Art into a Department of Design within a different college. Finally, the panel will explore what could and should come next, considering how design education might better respond to global, networked contexts through expanded collaboration and emerging technologies. The session aims to bring together shared perspectives from design educators navigating similar transitions and opportunities. Rather than presenting a single solution, the session invites critical discussion around how academic institutions can move from fragmented structures toward more integrated and future-facing design ecosystems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0A medida que el dise\u00f1o opera cada vez m\u00e1s a trav\u00e9s de sistemas f\u00edsicos y digitales, la educaci\u00f3n superior debe evolucionar m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los modelos disciplinarios aislados.
