Transdisciplinary artist, curator and theorist, Carmen works in the Art Department of the University of the Andes, Bogotá, Colombia as an associate professor. Her interests focus particularly on large-scale experimental and immersive performing arts projects, researching topics such as expanded narratives and the poetics of technology. A creator of multimedia projects since the late 1990s, Carmen is the artistic director of La Quinta del Lobo and founder of RETA.HEX (network of technodiversities and hybrid and expanded arts). She has curated various art, science, and technology exhibitions, including VOLTAJE between 2014 and 2023. Carmen has worked on stage and opera productions, as well as video mapping and fulldome projects; and her work has been presented in the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
