RE(DES): Weaving New Connections

NETWORKS = WEAVINGS

To weave is to connect. It is to bring different elements together to create something that could not exist in isolation.

DEL 2026 embraces weaving as a metaphor for the networks we build through design, education, and technology. Inspired by the material and craft traditions of the Caribbean, the visual identity abstracts the structures, intersections, and rhythms of weaving, transforming them into a contemporary graphic language.

Just as fibers meet, cross, and support one another, DEL brings together people, ideas, disciplines, languages, cultures, and territories, creating connections between the local and the global, the ancestral and the emerging, the handmade and the digital.

DIGITAL MESTIZAJE

In our contemporary world, networks are also woven.

They are woven between people and technologies; between knowledge and experience; between local communities and global conversations. Each encounter introduces a new perspective and transforms the larger structure of which it becomes a part.

RE(DES) speaks to these connections, but also to our capacity to re-design: to question existing structures, imagine new ways of learning and teaching, and collectively build possible futures.

From the Dominican Republic to the world, DEL 2026 creates a space where ideas intersect, disciplines meet, and new networks begin to take shape.

Because a network is never built from a single thread. It is woven together.
